What is the Farsi for freedom?
We who only beat pregnant women,
who gather at the ancient stone stream,
to listen to music that is green,
smashing traveller's bus windows,
so I put the flame to the pen.
My friend Kawa,
resting long years on the state pittance,
got his nuts put in a vice,
by a regime that is not nice,
for thirty years I suffered much pain and strife,
with Persian I gave the Ajam verve and life.
For the lion is out of the cage,
and the big atomic stick,
is very hip,
in the market of equality,
why do we need this monster to be free?
I will ring him to see if I can help,
for he is gentle and chocolate does melt,
weaving a basket
and searching for delft.
It is said that God can bring water to the desert,
we pray it is true.
