They all came today.

They all came today.
the bin men and the plain clothes,
the white coats and the health visitor in her panty hose,
but me and Molly had gone out to play.

The steam rollers where waiting warm,
so was the padded cell,
but the rag and bone man gave us a bell,
the video was waiting to be born.

The tea party at the place of no questions,
was dancing new questions in the orbit of another red dwarf,
as the narrow boat transported forever recycled industrial swarf,
the sun trains where picking up every day at the genetic stations.

A conscious reefer was burning my mind to reproduce itself,
computer pirates were wiping the data banks of the supreme authority,
waiting for death in the labyrinths of the nuclear city,
the poor chanting for lack of material wealth.

So light the fires and chant the songs,
Armageddon's gone on a permanent holiday,
but me and Molly had gone out to play,
out to the world in the pirate juice throng.

The universe was waiting us short and long.
