Nymphs and shepherds come to stay.

That you should be so lucky,
to be touched by fire and ice,
in Merry down's vale be nice,
bring back the heather and the bee.

The dream has come to stay,
such dancing on the green,
in rainbow merry May,
do not be hard and mean.

Did they not come back from war?
do you not have the gentle and the poor,
does not your stream run clear and true?
kindness does open the door.

Think again of the mad wandering Jew,
his hope did come for you,
of the dragon and the unicorn,
of love and the newborn;

welcome the coming stranger
welcome summer's dawn.
